resurrection | transcendence

when i woke up this morning, i was not compelled to write anything on the subject of easter or its celebrated resurrection. however, when i woke up this morning, i was overwhelmed by the number of people proclaiming and celebrating one man’s “victory over death” and championing this idea of supernatural hope. it got me thinking… 

this time in my life has been a time of change, hardship, and overwhelming pain (at times). i have come to face many things, which i laid to rest, and faced some unearthed demons for the umpteenth time. yet, i rose and i transcended. all this talk of resurrection has got me thinking about my own personal story and the journey of hope, healing, and transcendence that i will soon begin in a few weeks time. 

i just felt compelled to reflect on this briefly and to say a brief something to all of those doing a lot of celebrating and proclaiming today… i say to you, take the simple message of eternal hope and spread it to all those you know, or don’t know, in your life. hope transcends hardship, pain, and to some, death. physical or metaphorical, you decide… but do not be just a champion of hope on this day alone. be moved by love, be inspired by hope, and be motivated to make peace.

proclamation and judgment do not bring about change or conversions; they simply create more divisions and resentment. be changed by this world and those things that you believe to be true. stand up, rise up, and resurrect yourself from whatever it is that has held you down.
